Graham Irwin: My music

Here is a selection of videos of some of my music (latest additions first). My musical taste is mostly, but not exclusively, British and Irish folk, both traditional and contemporary. I have taken inspiration from Steeleye Span, John Kirkpatrick, Ian Campbell, John Conolly, Shirley Collins, The Albion Band, Fairport Convention, Strawhead, Martin Carthy and many others. I shall be adding a new video each week.

More recently I have been creating music tracks for meditation, relaxation, massage, yoga and therapy, as well as creating electronic pieces. These are included here, too.

Desiderata - Written by Max Ehrmann in the 1920s, and as just as relevant a century later. Go placidly in these troubled times... (2:57) : Watch on YouTube

The Prince Of Denmark's March - Jeremiah Clarke's well known composition; also known as Trumpet Voluntary. (2:05) : Watch on YouTube

Flandyke Shore - This strange, sad song is only a fragment of the original. It is believed to have been written before 1700. The title undoubtedly refers to Flanders shore. (2:59) : Watch on YouTube

The Dark Eyed Sailor - A classic "broken token" ballad. When, after many years, the lovers are reunited, the young sailor tests his love's fidelity and she proves true. (3:51) : Watch on YouTube

The Hills Of Greenmore - Also known as The Granemore Hare; written by Owen McMahon of Tassagh, Co. Armagh. (3:01) : Watch on YouTube

Nimrod - Elgar's Nimrod from Enigma Variations played on a synthesised organ. (3:07) : Watch on YouTube

The Bonny Black Hare - A slightly risqué (or bawdy depending on your point of view) British folk song; unaccompanied. (2:21) : Watch on YouTube

Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream - An anti-war song by Ed McCurdy, written in 1950 and recorded by over 50 artists. (2:19) : Watch on YouTube

State Anthem of Ukraine - The State Anthem of Ukraine. (1:12) : Watch on YouTube

Largo - Largo from from Handel's opera Serse (or Xerxes). Also known as Ombra Mai Fu - Handel goes electronic. (4:08) : Watch on YouTube
