Graham Irwin: My music

Here is a selection of videos of some of my music (latest additions first). My musical taste is mostly, but not exclusively, British and Irish folk, both traditional and contemporary. I have taken inspiration from Steeleye Span, John Kirkpatrick, Ian Campbell, John Conolly, Shirley Collins, The Albion Band, Fairport Convention, Strawhead, Martin Carthy and many others. I shall be adding a new video each week.

More recently I have been creating music tracks for meditation, relaxation, massage, yoga and therapy, as well as creating electronic pieces. These are included here, too.

Hip Hop Hop - A fun little number using a variety of synthesised instruments and effects. (2:19) : Watch on YouTube

Bonaparte's Lament - Bonaparte's Lament (or Napoleon On The Isle Of St Helena) a traditional Irish ballad about Napoleon's final exile, accompanied on 12-string guitar and synth. (3:19) : Watch on YouTube

The Unicorn - See what you get when you mix a rusty piano sound with a few diverse audio effects! (2:17) : Watch on YouTube

The Moon In My Heart - Composed for my wife for a short art video, this is played on electro-acoustic guitar. (1:22) : Watch on YouTube

Four Drunken Maidens - A traditional folk song from the south of England; the Isle of Wight used to be a centre for booze smuggling from France. (2:13) : Watch on YouTube

Track 5-18 - A short, 2 min 22 sec, ambient track for relaxation. (2:22) : Watch on YouTube

Jumping Beans - Another short piece that defies categorisation... (1:34) : Watch on YouTube

Sands Of Time - An ambient music track played on a synth with a "seashore pad", and rainstick. (4:06) : Watch on YouTube

The Last Rose Of Summer - A poem by Thomas Moore, here set to a traditional Irish air (Aisling an Óigfhear); accompanied on synthesised strings. (2:29) : Watch on YouTube

Time Ashore Is Over - Song by Bill Meek with a couple of tweaks to the tune by yours truly. (4:57) : Watch on YouTube
