Graham Irwin: My music

Here is a selection of videos of some of my music (latest additions first). My musical taste is mostly, but not exclusively, British and Irish folk, both traditional and contemporary. I have taken inspiration from Steeleye Span, John Kirkpatrick, Ian Campbell, John Conolly, Shirley Collins, The Albion Band, Fairport Convention, Strawhead, Martin Carthy and many others. I shall be adding a new video each week.

More recently I have been creating music tracks for meditation, relaxation, massage, yoga and therapy, as well as creating electronic pieces. These are included here, too.

Wachet Auf - J S Bach's cantata Wachet Auf, Ruft Uns Die Stimme, BWV 140, also known as Sleepers Wake, given a digital treatment. (4:28) : Watch on YouTube

Once I Loved A Maiden Fair - A wholly digital piece of music, untouched by human hand; the tune was registered in 1629 and was written by Thomas Symcocke. (2:22) : Watch on YouTube

Paul's Dream - A 21-minute track for meditation, relaxation, massage, yoga or therapy. (21:15) : Watch on YouTube

O'Carolan's Concerto - A digital version of this well-know tune (also known as Carolan's Concerto or Mrs Power) written by blind Irish harper Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738). (2:23) : Watch on YouTube

Remember The Alamo - A historically inaccurate song about the Battle of the Alamo by Jane Bowers (1921-2000). (3:11) : Watch on YouTube

Ruby Tuesday - It's not a folk song; written by Keith Richards, a top ten hit for The Rolling Stones and for Melanie. (3:00) : Watch on YouTube

The Dancing - A contemporary song by Andy Shanks and Jim Russell, based on the reminiscences of 101 year-old Mary. (4:21) : Watch on YouTube

Relaxing Paul's Moon - A 12-minute track for meditation, relaxation, massage, yoga or therapy. (12:07) : Watch on YouTube

The White Cockade - A common theme of a young man going off to war leaving his lass behind; sadly in this case, he doesn't return. (3:32) : Watch on YouTube

The Smuggler - Traditional/Ian McCalman based on a poem from A Pilgrimage to the Land of Burns by Hew Ainslie. (4:53) : Watch on YouTube
